Hair Description: Jacob's hair, once long, has been kept short since his transformation into a wolf. It is black and often messy; he tends not to maintain it a whole lot more than cutting it reguarly.
Eye Description: Jacob has deep brown eyes, and tends to squint slightly in the sun. At first his eyes might appear calm, but have a tendancy to portray a fair amount of emotion, particularly mischief and attraction.
Overall Appearance: Due to the fact that he is a werewolf, Jacob is quite tall - breaching 6' easily - and eternally appearing around twenty-five. His skin is a rich brown, tanned due to both genetics and the fact that he tends to avoid wearing shirts. As a wolf he is described as russet and well-muscled, as well as being quite large.

History:

Jacob was born on the Quileute reservation, in the small town of La Push. His entertainment as a child included making mud pies with his father's friend's daughter, Isabella Swan, and he had two older sisters - Rachel and Rebecca. As he grew, his twin sisters went their separate ways, leaving just Billy and Jacob living at the Black residence. Sixteen years was the beginning of a huge change in his life. First, Isabella, better known as Bella, returned to Forks to live with her father. During an outing at First Beach, La Push, he laughingly told Bella his tribe's legends about the Cold Ones, underestimating just how true those legends could be.

His own supernatural experience was a big wake-up call for Jacob. Soon after the Cullens left town, the malicious Victoria's presence near the town caused his first phase. It had been a relatively regular day - he'd been to the movies with Bella and a friend of hers, Mike Newton. He was happy. Yet, his father's comment when he returned home was enough to cause Jacob his first phase. Though he caused quite a lot of damage, Billy seemed understanding, summoning Sam Uley who helped to explain all about the Quileute werewolves. As Bella Swan's best friend, and also a werewolf, Jacob was tasked with the duty of keeping her and the rest of Forks safe from Victoria.

Though, Edward eventually did return, and Jake could not see how he could co-exist alongside the vampire. Bella's love was torn; she was destined for Edward, but losing Jacob as a friend was painful enough. Had Jake been satisfied with simply being friends with Bella, perhaps it would have been possible for him to exist in a world in which his mortal enemy was his best friend's boyfriend. His interest in Bella was enough that he managed to draw her in, even going so far as to share both a consensual and non-consensual kiss with her. Slowly, he grew to no longer hate Edward, and was even there for the birth of their daughter, Renesmee Cullen.

The moment he saw her, it was clear to Jake - this girl, this young almost-human baby was the center of his universe. He couldn't even think of wanting Bella in that way anymore. He'd imprinted on Nessie, and would be whatever she needed to be. He would be a brother to her, a best friend. And, if she wanted it, he could be a lover. The connection there was stronger than any other bond possible. Without the connection to Bella, he was also free to now be friends with both her and Edward. All of his waking hours were spent thinking about Nessie, and most of his dreams were filled with her. He vowed to defend her with her life, to be whatever she needed to be.

As the Cullens decided to move on, Jacob was faced with a very simple decision: Stay in Forks with his pack or move on with Nessie. His obvious and immediate answer was to move with the Cullens in order to stay with Nessie. However he continues to phase regularly in order to both keep in contact with his pack - with Leah as the unofficial alpha at this point - and to prevent him aging. Occasionally he travels back to Washington, and would do so if there was a threat to the Reservation, but the majority of Jacob's time is spent in Alaska.

Personality:

If there was just one word that could be used to describe Jacob's personality, it would be 'loyal'. He will stick by his friends, those he cares about, to the death and beyond. He's an easy-going type of guy with a decent grip on his ability to phase, and due to his heritage is naturally talented at what it takes to be a wolf. Despite his mature appearance, Jacob acts somewhat immaturely sometimes. He is also very mischevious. Before Nessie's kidnapping by the Volturi he would regularly sneak into the Cullen residences to see Nessie. Most of the time he was caught sooner or later, but really, Jacob didn't care.

You see, Jacob quite literally lives to please Nessie. Due to his imprinting on her, he is drawn to her in a way that means he'll always protect her no matter what happens. Upon discovering her capture, he was livid. Jacob had no idea how the Cullens could manage to let her slip through the Cullens' defences so easily. Yes, he obeys their orders to stay put, but it's only a matter of time before he'll crack over what he perceives to be excessive waiting. He's stubborn. Perhaps his greatest weakness is that once he sets his mind to something - in this case rescuing Nessie - there's no way he'll give up until the end is reached, whatever the means.

Jacob tries to lead his pack well, but recently has been hard to get a break from. With Nessie gone he's usually grumpy and difficult to live with, assigning insanely long and difficult patrols in an attempt to keep the Romanians - who only recently showed up - at bay and stop the Volturi from intruding on their territory again. Though he doubts they would have reason, or that anything else that he cares about could be taken from him, Jacob keeps up the efforts in hopes that he'll be on patrol if they do try. He'd love to tear them a new one, for taking Nessie. She's not dead to him, and all of his efforts are being put into getting her back and getting as much revenge as possible.

Yet, of course, Jacob does have his secrets. He doesn't want Nessie to know about his brief relationship with Bella, and Nahuel's existence certainly worries him - Nahuel would be so much more compatible with Renesmee, he believes, given that they are both of them same species. Perhaps they could be happier together... He'd allow another to be with her if that was what she wanted, yet Jacob is constantly afraid of being second choice.
