.x. .x. Michael Robert Stryker So Darken Your Clothes or Strike a Violent Pose; Maybe They'll Leave you Alone, but Not Me...
No, he wasn't going to go tear up some forest. That would be stupid. If he'd done that in his newborn years Gloria would have ended him straight up for lack of remaining brain cells even despite the fact it was common knowledge vampire venom made people stupid. Michael moved through the ankle-deep water gently, his movements specificially designed to leave few tracks. The way he'd been taught. He kicked up sand with the toe of his converse as he went, his golden eyes closed. Vampires didn't need sight. Not only did Michael not care if he ran into anything, there was nothing on this beach to run into. He could tell his position by the water lapping at his feet and saw no need to change direction. He imagined no treaty line he could have possibly crossed at any point.
Nova... Oh how he missed her. And now he was losing Rachel too. Everyone that ever meant anything to him, it seemed, would be taken away at some point or another. No vampire venom could protect against that. But Rachel's reaction had even surprised him. He understood if she ever found out she'd be surprised, but pure shock and almost fear had tainted her features. Then she'd gone off with that... Roland. The vampire had already tried to take one daughter from Michael; now he'd come back to finish the job? Michael should have just ended him in the first place, before Rachel even showed up.
Rachel would be okay... She could take care of herself. She was a clever opponent in combat, and she wouldn't take any risks... But even being around Roland was a risk. A lot could change in four years and Michael didn't really know his daughter anymore. And thus the scent of a hybrid surprised him, but he didn't open his eyes. Unfortunately, his sense of smell was accurate enough to tell him that this was not Rachel but another hybrid. Interesting... Still not enough so to make him stop walking down the shoreline, while the sun still shone.
