Name: Jane Volturi
Nicknames: No.
Age: 10//396
Species: Carnivore vampires
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Men
Special Ability: Jane has the ability to inflict a searing agony through the bodies of those she projects it onto.
Current Dwelling: Volterra
Hair Description: Jane has mid-length hair, which is a very pale honey colour. She never has it loose and flowing however, she always has it up in a intricate bun at the base of her neck. She feels that she has to be extremely neat in her position, so it is always tightly pulled back, without a hair out of place.
Eye Description: Jane has large, almond shaped eye, with a frame of pale blonde eye lashes. They are carnivoreredwhen she is well fed, however they are much deeper maroon colour as she is so much older than most vampires. As with all vampires, they turn progressively darker as she thirst (which she rarely does) and turn jet black if she were to starve.
Overall Appearance: Jane was quite young when she was turned, so she is only around 5 foot tall. This however, does not stop her from being a dominating and intimidating presence. She rarely dresses in anything but her Volturi cape, a black dress and black shoes. She is also never without her Volturi Crest of arms amulet, which she proudly displays. As I said earlier, she was very young when she was turned. She still has almost baby-doll like features, with big wide eyes, full lips and a small, upturned nose. Even though she has the appearance of a child, there is a strange sense of maturity in her face, almost as if the many hundreds of years she has been a vampire have aged her like an antique. However, it has not taken away her childish beauty, and although she rarely wears make-up, she is most certainly an adult.

History:
Born in a small rural village in Italy, Jan grew up with her twin brother Alec, knowing nothing of the outside world. Even though she was not mistreated as a child, she always had an almost sadistic fascination with pain. For a while, she and her brother would catch small rodents and animals, and torture them before releasing them.
A while later, the great Black Death came knocking at the door of the small village, and the first people to die where Jane and Alec's mother and father. Soon people where dropping like flies, and as the body count increased so too did the hysterical anger in the Villagers. They began to suspect (wrongly of course) that Jane and her brother where witches, and their only evidence against them was that they were not dying even though their whole family had.
Meanwhile, Aro had begun to search for his next addition to his guard, and he had seen Jane and her brother on one of their 'torture' quests. He intended to change the twins when they were much older, as he believed they may have some impressive gifting. Aro kept tabs on the twins, and when the growing animosity reached fever pitch he began to suspect that the villagers had found their scape-goats. He travelled to the small village just in time.
Jane and her brother were accused of witchcraft, a mortal sin in the eyes of the extremely catholic villagers. The twins where put on trial, but their fates where already sealed. On a cold and windy day in November 1627, Jane and her brother were tied to a single wooden stake. Jane never screamed. She felt only complete hatred towards the villagers. As the Mayor of the village stood forth with the flaming bundle of twigs, Jane simply stared at him. He threw the light onto the pyre, and as Jane and her brother began to burn, Aro ran forth at lightening speed to loosen the twins from the fiery deaths. Jane was unconscious by now, her smoke filled lungs were hardly able to draw breath. However, she soon felt the most agonising pain sear through her throat. It was worse than the pain she had felt from the pyre, it tore through her entire body for four whole days.
When she awoke, she felt utterly empowered. She felt a strength in her body which she had never felt before. Her other senses where heightened too, she could see like a hawk, smell like a bloodhound and move faster than lightening.
But she also felt the strongest thirst she had ever experienced. As she became aware of her thirst, she also realised she was within a magnificent castle, with grey stone walls and arrow shaped windows. A man was in the corner, he introduced himself as Aro, her new father. Jane felt fear, but as she felt this new emotion a strange thing happened to the man. He doubled over in agony, screaming like a banshee. Jane screamed and ran from the room. She hid in a cupboard, but was fished out by a blonde haired man with a grey suit and blood red eyes. Jane had no idea what had happened to the man, or indeed herself or her brother. The man seemed extremely strong, but Jane could have easily broken free from his grip. Instead she let herself be dragged towards a massive spherical shaped room, with three thrown fit for Kings. In the centre was the man she had seen bend over in agony. He smiled broadly as she entered, her hair a tangle of knots, her brown shift dress torn all up her leg.
“Welcome child. Welcome to your new life. You are extremely special, you have a most... extraordinary gift. Do you... think you could do it again?” Jane swallowed, her throat was on fire. But she stood up straight, and looked directly at a small women in the corner. Jane felt a strange tingling in the back of her mind, it felt like lightening dancing in her eyes. She looked at the women, and imagined sending out the lightening from her eyes. Immediately the women screamed just as Aro had done, and bend over backwards in pain. Jane began laughing, a shrill, cruel laugh of pure joy at inflicting such pain on a person.
“Bravo! Bravo child!” Cried Aro joyfully as the women continued to scream.
Many years later, Jane had learnt to control her skill to perfection. She had also been promoted to part of the Volturi guard. She would often be sent on missions by Aro to torture people, or bing them whilst Felix 'dispatched' them.
In 2007, many, many centuries later she came across a small brunette human. This, specimen would not react to Jane's skills, and this angered Jane more than anything had for hundreds of years. Jane felt utter disdain for Bella, and has never forgotten the humiliation she feels whenever their paths cross.
Personality: Jane has an extremely spiteful and sadistic personality. She enjoys immensely inflicting her 'skill' on others, and never misses an opportunity to do so.
She is easily angered when her gift is deemed useless or ineffectual, and this is how she got her strong disdain for Bella.
Jane has a immense jealousy of Alice Cullen, as Aro often compares Jane's gifting to hers. Aro seems to desire Alice more than her needs Jane, and this only angers Jane more. She would not be so effected by this if she did not worship Aro as she does. She enjoys in attention immensely, and will do anything to please him.
Jane has a naturally commanding nature, and is a natural leader. She has a great intellect, and is often chosen to enforce Aro's desires on the Vampire community. She lead the visit to Victoria, and also met with the Cullen's after their dispatching of the Newborn Army.
