Name: Nina Jayy Devereux Nicknames: -- Age: 18/8 Species: Hybrid Gender: Female Sexual Orientation: Bisexual Special Ability: -- Current Dwelling: Port Angeles
Hair Description: Nina has a very light blonde hair, often it cut to her shoulders and usually are in small curls that frames her peteite face. However sometimes she likes to straighten it and its length will become just short of the halfway mark of her back. Eye Description: She, unlike a vampire, has blue-green eyes. They are very sharp and lucid in her gazes that often makes people highly uncomfortable. Her orbs always seems to have a natural sparkle- be it from curiosity, amusement or impatience. Overall Appearance: Overall, she stands at a short height of five feet, four inches. She's a thin and small blonde that seemingly has no muscle mass whatsoever. Even with heels on, she can never be taller then at the most five feet six inches (because frankly, she doesn't like heels with the exception of boots). But she is partial to designer clothes, created and made to make someone look thinner and taller with specific designs and patterns. Contrary to what most people will see, she's shorter then the average height. She, like almost all hybrids have pale skin almost as white as snow, but it doesn't sparkle in the sunlight- it merely glows- which makes it easier for her to travel during the day.
She has a very angular face- sharp eyes, full lips often quirked into a smile, a small nose and a little baby cheeks. Looking at her, there is a childlike innocence to her face, from her slightly crooked teeth that matched her almost equally crooked smile- to the way her lips press together and push forward when she is upset; or maybe even the way her big, doe eyes look at someone or something- if they yearned for knowledge and wits. Face Claim: Juno Temple
Birthday: December 15, 2006 Family:- Mother- Marissa Isabella Devereux
- Father- Cameron Micheal Scott
Other Important People: Caretaker/ Godmother- Melinda Anne Goodson History: There isn't much in Nina's history. She is, after all, only eight years old physically. Despite her wit and mature mind- there's nothing much to say that can be noted and framed (maybe besides the fact that she's a hybrid).
One thing that Nina has been told about her mother was that she was very cautious. She was one of those people who believed in true love and all that lovely dovey hype- things that Nina herself couldn't bring herself to believe because of its crimson ending. She had met what soon would be the husband in her perfect life, and the father of her so-called child in a bar, watching football (again, something Nina couldn't bring herself to like). And there she met a man, sitting alone with his friend in the corner, watching the game intently, the buffalo wings forgotten by his side until his friend stole the basket and polished it off. Funny how fast things went- how quick Marrissa was to fall in love and get married; no doubt because her man was so perfect in every aspect of her life. No doubt after she married him he confessed the truth- why she stayed, she wasn't sure.
A week later after the wonderful day in white and night in skin; she was pregnant with Nina; how shocked must they had been to have a child, despite what the thought that Cameron had pipes that were... blocked... in places. And alarming, the rate in which Nina had grown caused panic in the house- Cam wanted the child dead but her mother didn't what mother wanted to kill her own daughter? But she fretted constantly, worried that something would happen to the child due to the growth spurt the child was having. In a daze, they set Marissa Goodson to be her godmother- unsure of how things would end. They, in precaution, packed up their things and moved to a more rural area, not wanting to disturb the neighbors in the bustling city life.
Naturally, during her upcoming- her mother died. And Marissa and Cameron took care of her, watching her, after a few days- once again grow and mature at and abnormal rate. But it didn't matter, did it? Nina grew up with her godmother (who decided to stay by her side in case her father lost some control) and her father, who often, at first took long trips away from her due to the blood that ran in her veins and heart that pumped them through her body. Nevertheless, despite the unusual upbringing, she was a smart girl- her father conned her certificate date of birth and often they traveled around the world whenever she wanted to go somewhere.
When she turned seven, she started to go off on her own. Like a teenager finally turning eighteen, she didn't want her parents to stand so close to her, she didn't want them to make sure she was still there after turning every corner. She intends to prove them that she can live by herself and find food and money with little jobs here and there. Though her home would always be in France, she is very partial to New York, Los Angeles and Seattle- and visits them more then once or twice.
Personality: Overall, most of Nina can simply be described as artistic. She has a rather different way of viewing things. She's creative, and she loves colors- colors always express her mood. She's one of those people who takes live day by day and just grabs whatever life floats along her way- rather then chasing it. She's pretty carefree and innocent- but highly fragile, and deep inside, she's scared sometimes a little depressed.
One could say that she has a keen eye. She loves to just sit in the shade and watch people, see how the react, how they spend day by day and what they do in different situations. She's curious and finds beauty in everything she looks at. Everywhere she goes she almost always has either a sketching book, a camera, or both in her bag- believing that there's always more depth to something then what meets the eye; and sometimes the only way to realize it is to take a picture and keep it for memories and keepsake. She's always that girl who just is fascinated by little things- snapping photos at the most unusual places and making connects from inanimate objects to human personality. She isn't partial to learning how to do something, but likes to try it and see if it works herself. She's independent and prideful.
But even too the well observed eyes, things that are right under one's nose can never really be picked up that easily. Like no one could guess she was just half vampire; no one could see the glow on her skin and just assume that she's not human. No one can look at her and say that sometimes she likes to indulge on blood as much as she likes to inhale Chinese food. And most importantly (to her), no one knows that sadness she carries inside; they don't feel the weight of the knowledge that because she was conceived, she was the one reason why her mother died such a horrible, bloody death- why she sometimes is a trouble for Melinda. Inside, shes feels like she's nothing more then a burden to some people, inside, she feels like she's useless and is just something that gets in peoples ways and kills other people.
Besides the quiet melancholy nature that she tends to keep to herself, she's pretty quiet- a loner. Some would say she has too much pride and would fight until her dying breath rather then admit that she is wrong. And she is. Along with her cocky attitude at times, she's stubborn, persistent, and has no time for children (human children) who are immature and just get in her way. In other words, she's very impatience and the times of 'why's in the toddler's life are one of the reasons why she just cannot stand them in the least. As a matter of fact- she hated waiting for something if it doesn't have anything to do with art- the mere thought of having to sit in the car for Melissa one time make her physically ill (figuratively, but her head did start to pound at the mere thought of it).
