I'VE FOUND A WORLD, WHERE LOVE AND DREAMS AND DARKNESS ALL COLLIDE.
MAYBE THIS TIME, WE CAN LEAVE OUR BROKEN WORLD BEHIND.
Had any of the hikers been more attentive, they wouldn't have breezed through the forest so clumsily; leaving a trail of boot prints and crushed leaves and broken twigs in their path. Had they stopped and were more conscious about their surroundings, they would have been more careful not to destroy the environment that the insects and little animals had worked hard to make- their homes and little miniature community. And had they stayed- they would have faced the angry howl as the critters worked to fix the damages. It reminded her of hurricane Katrina a few years back- how everyone scrambled to rebuild the city to its former glory, each memory of their houses and shops laid bare in the cold moist brown dirt on the ground- little black tic tac once again getting to work; carrying weight ten times their size and obediently gathering their things together. They will eventually prosper, like humans they give it all they have to have a place to stay- someone to work under, and a life to live. What better gift could they receive?
Nina bent down, adjusting the lens on her camera as she eagerly eyed the butterfly on the leave, wings ever-so-slightly moving as it perched delicately. Her plush lips curled into a grin, her eyes sparkled as she zoomed in; taking in the light fractions and soft glow of the scenery- focusing on the insect and blurring out the others. With a few clicks, she pulled away, standing up to inspect what she had caught.
Her boots gently crushed against the ground as she moved a few feet to the right; her walk too graceful to be human but too clumsy to be anything else. The unusual rays of the cheeky sun battered down on her fair skin with a luminescent glow. Blonde locks of curly hair fell about her shoulders as she raised the expensive device to her eye again, her blue green orbs focusing on the butterfly at a new angle- followed by a series of clicks as the human-made machine caught nature in ones it is more peaceful acts. It was the best day to spend a morning- where the world was asleep, the non-stop chitter chatter of the other world was more calming then dirty and grimy. But raw beauty wasn't common; it was through the rough, sticky barks while one climbs up a tree do they see a nest of robins and their little babies, right? Nothing was purely pretty- unless it was done with an Apple computer.
Stepping back, she looked at the screen intently before she turned around, her eyes wandering around her; there was so many things she could try to capture, the sunset- the squirrel, where to start?
Moving forward the key chain softly bounced against her bare skin, hooked around the belt loop of her shorts. As for shirts, she wore a simple flannel shirt that was tied in the back. Her combat boots assaulted the ground as she took a snapshot of two birds flying next to each other- their shadow and frame dark against the morning light.
