Eye Description: Like most Vegetarian vampires, Jasper has gold eyes when he has fed. However as he gets hungry his eyes change to black. They are always bright, and may seem distant, but they catch every movement and miss very little.
Overall Appearance: Because of his military background, Jasper has a very deceptive muscular body. He is very strong for his size and weight. He is very fast even for a vampire. He stands about 6' 3", and weighs about 170 lbs. He is pale in complexion but because he lived in the South, is darker than a normal vampire.

History:
Jasper was born on a farm near Jackson, Tennessee in 1844, he lived there for about ten years. As was typical of farm kids of the time, Jasper grew up having to do a lot of chores, it was here he gained his work ethic from his Father and mother, they were a very close family, Jasper looked up to his father as a guide. At the tender age of eleven, the Whitlock family moved to the greener and more promising homesteads of Texas. They settled north of Houston, and young Jasper helped his father and mother, successfully homestead their land. Jasper never did go to a formal school, but was schooled by his mom at home.

In 1861 when the civil war started, Jasper eagerly enlisted in the confederate army, his work ethic, strength, and character allowed him to quickly advance through the ranks gaining the trust of the officers and enlisted men alike. Within two years, Jasper was the youngest major in the Confederate army. He had a great respect and care for other people , especially women, whom he would help if at all possible. His courtesy toward women would lead to him being changed. Jasper was twenty years old and stationed in Galveston, when Union gunboats attacked. Jasper was assigned to evacuate women and children to Houston. After taking the first column safely to the city, Jasper attempted to return immediately to Galveston by himself. However he met three beautiful Mexican women just outside of Galveston. One of them was Maria, a vampire who chose to change Jasper so he could be used in a newborn army to control Northern Mexico.

After he was changed, Jasper found out quickly that he was stronger and quicker than most of the other newborns, this allowed him to win most of the fights that occurred in life as a newborn. Maria realized his potential and put Jasper in charge of the other newborns. It was here that Jasper learned that he had the ability to manipulate emotions, this allowed him to more effective control and train the newborns and help them work more effectively together. Jasper and Maria became very close and soon they were able to control the Mexican city of Monterey. Several years later, he also became close to a vampire by the name of Peter, whom he had trained, and eventually became his second in command. However one day, Peter and Jasper were killing the newborns because they outlived their use. Jasper called the next newborn to dispatched, Charlotte, Peter called for her to run and he followed also, Jasper chose not to pursue them to the displeasure of Maria. At that point his attitude toward Maria began to change.

Peter and Charlotte returned to Jasper and told Jasper about the new life they had. Life seemed to be simpler, they had never had a fight with other vampires though they had met many on their travels. At that point Jasper chose to leave Maria, and travel with Peter and Charlotte. During this time Jasper found himself falling into depression especially during and after hunting. He soon realized that he was feeling empathy for his victims. He soon ventured out without Peter and Charlotte.

Jasper tried not to feed as much to avoid depression, but he found it challenging. He soon visited Philadelphia and during a rain storm and ventured into a small diner and there he met the love of his life Alice.
For some reason, to his surprise, she was expecting him. They warmly greeted each other and became very close friends from that point forward. He loved her very much and she became his wife. Alice's vision soon led them to the Cullens in Washington. Jasper and Alice joined the Cullen clan, Jasper becoming a brother to Rosalie. Edward, Rosalie, Emmett and Alice went to Forks High School.

It was at forks high school, that Bella came into the Cullen's life as junior. At first Jasper was unwilling to accept Bella into the life of the family because she was human and even though he was vegetarian now, Jasper still was tempted. When it became obvious the Edward wanted Bella and Alice seemed to be comfortable with it Jasper accepted the fact that would be part of his life. He got to know Bella better, on a trip to save her from James, which almost ended in disaster when Bella used her inside knowledge of the Phoenix airport to escape from him and Alice and confront James in a dance studio. The family barely arrived on time to rescue her.

During their "senior" year, the Cullen's had a birthday party for Bella. It was a low point for Jasper when Bella made a small cut in her finger. Jasper being the weakest member of the family would have bit her if it wasn't for the quick action of his two brothers Edward and Emmett. The Cullens left Washington for a short time to give Bella a chance to live life without them. This was an absolute disaster, when Alice misinterpreted what she saw was Bella's death and Edward went to Italy to arrange his own death at the hand of the vampire's ruling family, the Volturi. Jasper almost lost Alice that day, his only regret that he wasn't there to protect her, although it would have met his death also. When Bella came home she asked for a family vote on making her a vampire. Jasper was one of the yes votes, much to her surprise, his reason was selfish, he didn't want to be the weak one of the family, he would wrong about that too.

Later on that year, the family was back in Forks, and Bella was accepted as part of the family, but the trouble just would not end, the Cullens were watching a murder spree in Seattle which had the signs of newborns out of control. Jasper had expertise in this area and took a leading role in preparing the Cullens and to Jasper's surprise the wolf pack in fighting the newborns. It was an easy fight, but the trouble would go on.

At the end of the school year Bella and Edward were married, life should have gone to normal, they should have guessed differently, Bella became pregnant during the honeymoon, Edward brought her home so they could have an abortion, but Bella and Rosalie had other ideas. The family found themselves in two different camps. The baby was born, however Bella was almost lost, and if it wasn't for some quick action by Jacob and Edward, she would have passed away. Bella got her wish to become a vampire.

Bella surprised Jacob as a newborn, and even changed some of his thinking about newborn psychology. Her self control and discipline made him feel weak despite his strong points. Renesemee, bella's new hybrid daughter, was a joy to the family and everything was going well, but with bella, trouble was always around the corner. Renesemee was seen by Irinia, a close family friend who lost her mortal mom because she created the immortal child, one of the laws created volturi.
After forseeing the Volturi were coming, Alice told the Cullens what they needed to do on their end to get ready. Then she told Jasper , "lets go" , they went to Bella cottage and Alice wrote down an address to a lawyer Jacob knew in Seattle in one of Bella's books, then stole the title page. Alice and Jocob than went to the border to go to the coast and make thier getaway. But before they left they gave the page to Sam, with instruction to wait for the Cullens at that spot. Alice and Jacob then found Peter and Charlotte and the Amazon coven before looking and finding a hybrid child to bring back to Washington, this took away the Volturi's one last reason to fight with the Cullen coven.
Personality:
Because of Jasper's Military background, he is very calm under pressure. He takes a look at any situation that is presented to him, tries to find the advantages and disadvantages, and then develops the situation that will best work for his side. Because of this, he is a very good strategist. However this strength can make him seem inflexible, because he is so strong in the work he puts into his planning, it is sometime difficult to change to another's point of view.

Jasper is caring to his friends and family and very protective to those he loves, especially Alice whom he loves dearly. He is always willing to take a greater risk than he would expect others to take.

Jasper's greatest weakness is rejoicing in the failing of others. Where he expects and demands success for himself, he seems to take satisfaction when others fail. Especially when the failure is something that he himself is weak at.
